Post by ishanijerin1 »

This is all anyone has been talking about in recent months.

The darling of the moment, the metaverse has been, mainly, an object of curiosity among people , but there are also those who love it and those who hate it.

What are its advantages? And its dangers?

And what about digital marketing? How will it fit into this story?

We seek to answer these and other questions in this post! Keep reading to find out everything!

Defining Metaverse
By definition, the metaverse is what the name itself suggests: a parallel universe .

But, contrary to what many people think, this universe is far from being a novelty or an exclusive launch of the present day.

Remember those online games that were all the rage in the 2000s, like Second Life or Habbo? Well then. Both can be considered metaverses – perhaps their pioneers.

Do you know why?

Created in 1992 by Neal Stephenson in his book Snow Crash, the term “metaverse” conceptualizes, as we have already said, parallel universes that replicate the real world in the virtual world , exactly what these games were already doing at that time.

The only major difference is that now Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has appropriated the term to position himself at the forefront of this technology in the market and also to announce the change in the name of the company that owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, which has gone from being called Facebook to Meta.
Furthermore, with the popularization of artificial intelligence and virtual reality in the market, social interaction with each other in these environments can be more in-depth and the experience more immersive.

What experts say about the metaverse
But what do experts say about this new way of looking at the metaverse (or the universe and its virtual interactions)?

There are those who believe that, soon, we will be interacting in our lives as if we were all “inside”.

We will do everything through the metaverse: work, study, shop, date. And in an accessible way – or at least that is what Mark Zuckerberg wants: “we want hardware to be as accessible as possible for everyone and ensure that the digital economy grows”, he said in a meeting with shareholders.

At the same time, there are those who argue that we still know very little about the subject and who believe that the topic will still bring up many discussions, especially in relation to digital currencies and data privacy .

Recently, the main news portals in Brazil and around the world published information about sexual harassment committed against an avatar in the metaverse.

There have also been those who have said that we will no longer leave the house to shop or socialize, we will do everything there.

“The metaverse will rebuild the web from a flat, two-dimensional experience to an immersive, interactive, three-dimensional experience that resembles a multiplayer game like Fortnite,” said Game of Silks CEO Dan Nissanoff.

Many questions, little information and a world of rules, rights and duties to be defined in the coming times.
