The panel discussion that followed was not very interesting

The most interesting part of the day was Mr. Fendrych's lecture from ExperienceU , which focused primarily on how to choose a UX designer. As if Mr. Fendrych knew exactly why I had come to the conference, he kept spouting off one interesting piece of information after another. So who is a good UX designer? Many companies think that they are graphic designers who are good at Photoshop, animating in Flash, and scripting with jQuery. According to Mr. Fendrych, these are exactly the requirements that a UX designer does not have to meet at all. It is much more important that they understand psychology and sociology and that they are able to communicate perfectly. A good UX designer must be able to see into the minds of users in order to be able to predict what problems they will have when they come to the website, and they must be able to solve these problems.

I didn't expect it to be, considering the fact that it was only about 40 minutes long. That's an absurdly short amount of time to develop any discussion.

Afternoon part
As I already mentioned, the afternoon part focused more on specific examples of implementing UX design into websites and applications. Mr. Bíza “from Forrest” showed specific examples of how they improved linkedin database websites, among others, the website of Komerční banka. Fortunately, it turned out that we do it well at Aitom, because in many cases we proceed similarly. The lectures of Mr. Jonek and Mr. Hommer were also in a similar spirit, i.e. presentations of specific services. Both of them talked mainly about what led them to create their products (in Mr. Jonek's case, it was Mobito, in Mr. Hommer's case, it was music streaming), or what needs they identified among their potential customers and how they decided to satisfy these needs.

In addition to the gentlemen already mentioned, the afternoon session also featured a lecture by Mr. Karlec from the 2fresh agency , who talked about how a good website should be entertaining. Not only entertaining, it must of course be functional and useful, and on top of that, it should also be entertaining. Because if you leave a positive impression on a visitor, they will come back to you.
