As marketing and communications professionals, we have known for decades that relevance is the key to the hearts (and wallets) of the target audience. But consumers now know exactly how to dodge the flood of information bullets. It is important that we as marketers stand out in this information overload and end up in the minds of the target audience. But how?

Getting between the ears of that one person is like taming a wild cat: time-consuming and expensive. But then there is… artificial intelligence. In a mass-media world where it is almost impossible for humans to create almost individualistic contact moments, AI can map individual behaviors, desires and problems in real time. And thus show hyper-personalized content. The result? The consumer feels understood and seen, the advertisement is viewed and sales skyrocket.

3. Data
These are the lifeblood of AI. Without data, AI cannot exist, but we don’t have to worry about that. Our mountain of data is growing exponentially. For us as marcom professionals, it has simply become impossible to collect and analyze all the data.

4. Creativity
The most debatable in this case, because can AI take over our creativity? “Creativity also involves a degree of repetitive behavior and then it could theoretically be taken over by AI. It is not necessarily the case that AI will take over our creativity, but it could serve as the perfect co-pilot for the creatives,” says Jorn.
