No matter where you fall on that spectrum, this is a great soft skill for a salesperson to have.

You'll be talking to people regularly, giving demonstrations and presentations, so the last thing you need is to freeze in the middle of a crucial meeting.

The best thing you can do to overcome your fear of public speaking is to practice, practice, practice. The more you do it, the more natural it will feel.

10. Integrity

Honesty and transparency with prospects are essential to being a salesperson with integrity.

This should go without saying, but it bears repeating: salespeople should never push a sale on someone who isn’t a good fit for a product or service. Whether it’s pain points, budget, or any other reason.

A salesperson should never be wrong about what a product or service can do for someone. If you overpromise and underdeliver, it will come back to haunt you.

This can ruin your entire career.

11. The growth mindset
It's amazing what people can accomplish when they have a growth mindset.

What does this mean exactly? It is the belief that you are capable of strengthening your talents and acquiring new sales skills/abilities over time.

This means you understand the importance of working hard and constantly trying to improve yourself, rather than staying stuck in your ways.

If you're barely hitting your sales goals each quarter and you're perfectly happy with that, sales may not be for you.

It's important to strive for constant improvement over time. To learn. To grow. To smash those goals!
