The better chatbots can eventually have a personalized conversation with you, making it feel like you’re talking to a helpdesk employee or salesperson. But on a scale that’s much larger and cheaper than human employees. The best bots are self-learning systems that can recognize written and spoken text, and are therefore becoming increasingly smarter. We’re not there yet, but conversational commerce is maturing.
I even expect that there will be chatbots that collect and post social media content for you.

This sounds very interesting (and a bit creepy ), but I want to explicitly emphasize: we are not there yet. It is absolutely the early days of the chatbot era. Many of the bots mentioned earlier are no more than an MVP (minimum viable product). It works, but that is all that can be said. An interesting development for the future. But anyway, this article was called: the future of social media.
Hyper-personalization
As you can read; the smarter the algorithms become and the more data we share, the more we are served on a customized basis. Social media are therefore becoming increasingly personal. Increasingly intertwined with physical reality. Increasingly tailored to your preferences and the existing context. What you are presented with is increasingly information that suits you, what you need at that moment, at that place.
