But we still wonder... What is coaching and what can it do for us?
I studied this formal training because I was demotivated at work. I earned a salary, I spent the whole day at work, I came home, had dinner, went to bed and started the next day: without enthusiasm, without passion and every day more like an automaton, more mechanical.
We are not talking about a series of applied disciplines; we are talking about a way of feeling life, a commitment to yourself, to people and to the environment. It is much more.
Words like comfort zone, responsibility, beliefs, acceptance and awareness are starting to landline number format philippines become part of my daily life. First as concepts and then my learning allowed me to integrate them into my way of acting, behaving and living.
What does the application of coaching entail?
Through Coaching we accompany people and organizations, companies and institutions to achieve their maximum development , both personal and professional, or to achieve a balance and improvements in the performance and objectives of professional staff.
During my training I learned to know myself, to value my talent, what I am really good at and effective at; I learned to recognize those tasks that you start and without realizing it you have spent hours immersed in them: You do it so naturally that you do not perceive them as an achievement.
That was precisely where my takeoff began because then I had to question thoughts and inner thoughts that I believed were absolute truths, and that prevented me from moving forward and growing. My mind had built beliefs like “work = suffering”, “I'm not good at languages”, “I'm not going to get promoted or achieve my goals”...
From that unconscious thought I was simply looking for work and I could expect little from that simplicity. If you are not aware of this but you are looking for a job where suffering is normal… you are going to find it! You will have what you did not reflexively look for: Suffering.
And if your mind says NO to languages, either you identify that false and harmful belief and replace it with a new, more positive one, or you will be left without English.
Over the years of working with other people, I have encountered many beliefs that prevent us from moving towards our goals. Beliefs such as “I don’t know how to speak in public”, “I’m not good at computers”, “I’m incapable of playing sports”, “it’s impossible to be independent and live in peace”, etc. make it almost impossible for us to grow as proactive and effective human beings.

To give you an idea of how these limiting beliefs condition your life, think about a classic like “I do everything wrong” and feel how you are and what that thought provokes in you.

Is there a difference? Of course there is! It is a small step towards a new reality.
From this personal experience, I would like to highlight that Coaching is a process that requires discipline from both the coach and the coachee - terms that we will explain later. It is a training that fosters self-knowledge and helps us improve competencies, develop skills, and grow from our capabilities.
Depending on the area where you work, we can talk about Personal Coaching specialties. It focuses on life projects and is concerned with the well-being of the person:
Business : Works in organizations and companies and focuses on promoting teamwork, communication, and conflict resolution.
Executive : Aimed at senior executives, it works on the leadership and performance skills of staff.
Sports : Works on the athlete's potential, their empowerment and leadership skills.
Educational : Focused on developing the members of the educational system. Its purpose is to seek to improve individual performance, so that students enhance their skills without limiting their potential and creativity.
Any of these specialties are directed by a coach, a “trainer,” a professional who has been trained by accredited entities and who teaches techniques that help human beings achieve the goals they want to achieve.
Through these specialized techniques, the coach mirrors the coachee - the person who is the subject and object of a coaching action - in his or her own inconsistencies and doubts, in the same way that he or she also projects in that mirror what is a talent or resource for that person, thus enabling the identification of his or her strengths, and accompanies him or her in the discovery of his or her identity in such a way that he or she takes responsibility for his or her current and future state.
The Coaching process is developed between the coach and the coachee following a specific methodology divided into several phases:
Context generation: In this first phase the coachee determines the objective to be achieved.
Current situation: After creating trust between the coach and the coachee, the client's real situation is tested. That is, if what the coachee tells the coach is the same as what he transmits to him and, if applicable, to determine the coachee's real situation.
Future situation: What is the objective that the coachee wants to work on?
Feedback: Coach and coachee communicate transparently about how the process is evolving and how they feel.
Action plan: once the objective is clear, it must be put into practice. How? The coach, through action plans, helps the client to achieve it; for example, by following an agenda to manage time well, breathing exercises to improve self-control, etc.
Monitoring: Once the objective has been achieved, it is necessary to monitor its status to check whether or not the coachee has deviated from the path established in the action plan phase.
A coaching process can last from 1 to 12 sessions maximum, during which commitment and constant work on the part of the coachee is essential to achieve the desired objectives, as well as total professionalism on the part of the coach to achieve the maximum degree of communication and trust with his client.
Coaching is definitely here to stay and to be part of any personal enrichment and growth in all the vital aspects I mentioned before. There is a mistaken belief that Coaching is an interaction between coach and coachee limited to the personal field. This incomplete vision of Coaching is now totally obsolete from the moment that institutional, business, group and entity fields of all kinds can be the focus and object of actions by accredited Coaching professionals.
