If you’ve come this far looking for information on how to work online, there’s a good chance you’re pretty confused.
And how can you be wrong? These are complex times, in which it is increasingly difficult to give a definition to names and activities that change at the speed of light.
Until about a decade ago, within an article about online work you would reasonably find a long list of digital “jobs” such as call center operator, translator, or the like.
Subsequently, and until recently, with the internet becoming more and more pervasive and many businesses starting to go digital, the same article would have told you about self-employed jobs, mainly carried out by freelancers, such as copywriters , and entrepreneurs, such as those who decide to open an online dropshipping store .
But today? Does it still make sense to give this type of answer new zealand email list today? More, does it still make sense to ask this type of question?
In a world where everyone, practically even carpenters and plumbers, work connected to the internet to receive orders, issue invoices or purchase the necessary parts... the question should perhaps be "who does NOT work online today?" .
And this is coming from someone who, when she started working, probably asked Google the question. And in fact I found myself choosing to work as a freelance copywriter, to be able to live as a digital nomad : free in time and space, just as I wanted.
Because at the time (even if it was only a few years ago, it seems like geological eras ago) it was perhaps the only possible way, or at least that was my perspective.
But today? Today, when after Covid-19 and the various lockdowns, practically the entire world is working online and remotely? Today, when we have understood that, if done well, working remotely can guarantee more productivity, more well-being, more balance between life and work? That companies large and small are making great strides by permanently sending employees home (in a good way)?
