Paying with Pix is interesting for consumers who want to speed up the approval of purchases during Black Friday, which takes place this Friday (26). This is because the Central Bank's system, used on the iceland mobile database of large retailers and in various types of e-commerce, is instantaneous and settles transactions in up to 10 seconds. Precisely because it is so fast in transferring money, Pix has become one of the favorite means of criminals to commit digital fraud. This fact causes insecurity among consumers: two in three Brazilians are afraid to buy with Pix, according to a survey by PSafe.
The payment system, however, is safe. Just check the transaction data carefully and be alert to scams, avoiding actions such as opening suspicious links received via WhatsApp or SMS and accessing the bank's app using public Wi-Fi networks. Below, TechTudo lists these and three other tips for purchasing via Pix safely.

1. Do not buy from links shared via WhatsApp and SMS
You need to be careful with links received via WhatsApp, email and SMS, especially if they are sent by unknown senders. This type of communication is often used in phishing attacks, which aim to make the victim access fraudulent pages, often with a layout identical to that of legitimate e-commerce sites, in order to steal information and personal data.
During promotional periods such as Black Friday, these messages may contain promises of free gifts, special discounts or exclusive offers. When visiting one of these malicious pages, consumers may be tempted to make a fake purchase to take advantage of the supposed offer and end up transferring money to the criminals. In addition to Pix, criminals also commit scams using bank slips and credit cards.
