Projects in euros
Also, it was not possible to set up projects in euros until now. Another currency in Kickstarter does not make it any clearer, but the fact that projects in euros are added may make it a bit more accessible for the countries in the eurozone. This therefore potentially offers an attractive crowd market in the countries surrounding us.

Conditions and prohibitions
Kickstarter has two basic principles . If you can't meet these, there's no point in crowdfunding via Kickstarter:

Everything on Kickstarter must be a project, meaning with a clearly defined outcome and end.
A project must fit within one of the categories: Art, Comics, Dance, Design, Fashion, Film, Food, Games, Music, Photography, Publishing, Technology and Theater.
In addition, a number of specific conditions apply

You have to show what you want to make and what you have already made, so with prototypes and technical drawings. The maker must also be clear about whether and how the final product deviates from the prototype.
You may not show imitations of the product; no Photoshop action that makes it seem as if the product is already ready-made.
A reward can only consist of one product, but exceptions are possible if it is clearly established that a product consists of several comparable parts.

If you can meet these requirements, you may start a project. But be aware that Kickstarter has quite a few prohibitions. This list includes things like:

You may not raise funds to develop a commercial website;
You may not offer shares or (partial) ownership in your company;
You may not use funds to support a political party;
You may not start a charity project or promise to use the funds or part of the funds to support charity;
No tobacco, alcohol, drugs, pornography, cosmetics, (sun)glasses, medicines and nutritional supplements.
Dutch Kickstarter successes
Kickstarter was the most well-known crowdfunding platform last year, according to the National Crowdfunding Survey , but starting a project has not been easy for Dutch initiators until now.

Half are successful, the other half are not
Of the hundred Dutch projects on Kickstarter in the past five years, exactly half were not successful. With these failures, it is striking that the projects did not meet the conditions for success outlined above. There were no updates, there was no connection with the backers, the goals were too unclear and the rewards offered too little, in short, the much-needed involvement of the producer with the consumer was missing.

Kickstarting games successfully
Of course, there have also been Dutch successes. The biggest success expressed in absolute numbers is a game sequel, Awesomenauts Starstorm . Sequel games and games from well-known game makers often do very well on Kickstarter anyway. This is easy to explain, because there is already a large group of involved players and because the graphics and videos of such a project always look great. Ronimo Games raised almost $350,000 with this project.

High amounts are allowed
Besides games, gadgets are always popular. A bag that charges your mobile, the Phorce , is a very good example of this. This project yielded $200,000. For these successes, it is true that they had set a fairly high target. Respectively $125,000 for the game and a whopping $150,000 for the bag.

100% Dutch projects: Dutch bank account, in euros
There are currently eight Dutch projects active on Kickstarter, that is, they have not yet passed the deadline. This will change from next week. On April 29, the first 100% Dutch projects will launch via Kickstarter.

Prepare yourself well
Knowing our creative nature and business acumen, I expect this change to yield many fantastic creative projects and ideas in the coming months. Be well-prepared by delving into the prerequisites for a successful project and be aware of the prohibitions.
