If you've used your Instagram in the last 10 days, you've been surprised by an automatic message about the integration between Instagram DM and Messenger.
This update began to be released to users in Brazil last Thursday, April 15, 2021, and took many people by surprise.

App integration
The integration between these applications began around the world in September 2020. Since then, some features have already been released for some users and have gradually evolved until they were made available to all accounts.
This integration allows users to use Messenger features line data within Instagram Direct, without having to switch between apps. In other words, messages will be more fluid. However, for now, the message boxes will remain separate, that is, each one in its default app.
Instagram and Messenger Integration
Currently, the platforms do not offer the possibility for users to deny the integration. In other words, you must accept the update and then go to “Message Control” to separate Messenger from Instagram Direct.
What will change?
In total, there were more than 10 new functions available with the update and they work for both Android and iOS.
These features include:
The possibility of using animated selfie stickers;
Select topics in chat;
React to messages with custom emojis by creating shortcuts to favorites;
Use message effects;
Reply to specific messages, just like WhatsApp;
Activate Temporary Mode, which automatically deletes Direct messages;
“Watch Together”, which allows you to watch videos from Instagram and IGTV during video calls;
Forwarding of various contents;
Message control, deciding who can or cannot send messages directly;
Reporting and blocking updates.

How to activate the integration?
To activate this integration immediately, simply log into your Instagram app. A message will appear on the screen and you can click Done. In Messenger and for people who download the apps for the first time from now on, the integration will be automatic.
