Just before Christmas, the United Starbucks Workers Union australia phone number list announced that it would hold a strike on Friday in three major cities: Los Angeles, Chicago and Seattle, where Starbucks is headquartered, to protest against issues such as wages, benefits, and human resources.
The union said the strike would spread over the next few days and was expected to cover hundreds of stores by Christmas unless the company reached an agreement with the union.
"No one wants to strike," Alhajabudi, a Starbucks barista in Texas, said in the union's statement. "This is a desperate move, but Starbucks has broken its promises to thousands of baristas, leaving us with no choice."
Strikes escalate
On December 20th local time, the Starbucks Workers Union announced a strike in multiple cities in the United States to protest Starbucks' unfair labor practices and low wages. The fiveday strike began on Friday and closed Starbucks stores in Los Angeles, Chicago and Seattle.
