2. The vulnerable selfie portrai

Post by Bappy11 »

First of all, this trend seems to be the exact opposite of the first one, because the spontaneous selfie is a thing of the past. Okay, not in Stories with a crazy AR filter over it, but as an Instagram post. In the land of selfies, we see a shift from a spontaneously shot image to a constructed and carefully shot image, whether or not photographed by a photographer.

Vulnerability plays an important role in such a selfie portrait. Often the sender tells a personal story with buy phone number list the image. A story that shows a vulnerable side of a person. A very current and striking example of this is the beautiful coming out of @nikkitutorials . There seems to be more and more room on Instagram for more raw and honest emotions, for all the facets and realities that modern life has to offer and that make every person a human being. In this way, a new, visual form of inclusivity seems to be emerging.

We regularly see a combination of the two trends above. For example, influencer Lizzy van der Ligt recently posted a carousel, in which the first photo is a perfectly styled selfie. And the subsequent photos are the images that almost or never made it in the form of a making of. In short: a selfie portrait with the spontaneously shot, 'real' images behind it.

3. From me to we
Protests are almost a daily occurrence. People regularly take to the streets to stand up for a social issue. They stand and go for something and know that they can have an influence through their actions. Also on social media, everyone's voice seems to be heard louder. People are aware of this and make themselves even stronger by uniting with others who pursue the same goal or interest. Together is better than alone.
