Magento 2 is currently in the young adult phase of its life. It still has a few minor flaws, but not nearly as many or as severe as after its launch in 2015. Developers will be focusing their efforts on the second version of the framework. So it's high time for you to do the same.
developing
Because Magento 2 uses a completely different data structure, it is not a matter of copy-paste to transfer all data. Fortunately, Magento has developed the Data Migration Tool for this, with which all standard Magento data (such as products, customers, orders, attributes, discount codes) are converted. Such a free plugin has its limitations of course. Magento's own tool works via the command prompt and is therefore very technical.
Besides the Data Migration Tool, there are also a number of paid migration plugins that make the transition to version 2 just that little bit easier and smoother. One example of this is the Ubertheme Data Migration Pro . This tool has an easy interface and does not require any technical knowledge to migrate the data.
Magento 2 has a modern look and feel and is france telegram data more clearly laid out. This makes it easier for new users to get to know the interface.
Using the Data Migration Pro plugin is very useful for the basic migration, but most webshops also use various extensions. These extensions add specific functionalities to the webshop, but due to the new code structure they cannot be reused in Magento 2. For this you have to look for a new version of the extension, or one with similar functions that does support the new structure. Litextention and Shopping Cart Migration are examples of companies that have focused on migrating and moving webshops (and therefore also variants that do not use Magento). These paid tools also offer support for some commonly used extensions.
All in all, it is not just an easy operation - and then we have not even talked about customization. Because is your shop custom made ? Then those custom additions will really have to be manually transferred to the new environment.
Well begun is half done
It is important to start a migration process with realistic expectations. Do not expect it to be 'a short week' of work and certainly not that you can 'rush it through on a Friday afternoon'. Especially for medium to large webshops, you will quickly be busy for one to several months. This is because it often concerns relatively large amounts of data with different extensions: everything has to be viewed one by one.
