What is DNS?
DNS is a system that translates domains into IP addresses. When you type in a domain name DNS takes action to find the corresponding IP address, allowing your device to connect to the correct server.
When you type a web address, the client sends a request to a DNS server. This server, which can be your provider's or a public DNS server, searches its database for the IP address corresponding to the domain name you entered. Once the IP address is found, the DNS server sends it to your browser, which can then connect to the desired website.
