Tech vacancies: 120,400 unfilled positions

Post by sakib40 »

Adigital's " Digital Economy in Spain " report highlights the gap between skills and needs in the labor market, a phenomenon that affects 1.3 billion people worldwide and approximately 43% of the Spanish workforce. In other words, almost one in two people is under- or overqualified for their jobs.

Specifically, the study " X-ray of vacancies in the technology sector " conducted by DigitalEs estimates that there are 120,400 unfilled positions in Spain, for which there are no professionals. These positions are primarily in software development (40,000), but also in cybersecurity (24,000), systems, hardware and data processing (25,000), and cloud (8,500).

E-commerce: €55.8 billion in turnover
B2C e-commerce in Spain grew by 8% in 2021, reaching €55.8 billion in phone number list turnover, according to the " European Ecommerce Report 2022 " prepared by Ecommerce Europe and EuroEcommerce, with the participation of Adigital. E-commerce is expected to intensify in 2022: online sales in Spain will close with a 17% increase in 2022, reaching €65.3 billion. This increase represents almost double the figure forecast for the 27 countries of the European Union as a whole, where e-commerce is estimated to grow by 10% in 2022. The boost in online sales in Spain has led to the contribution of B2C e-commerce to Spanish GDP doubling in the last four years, rising from 2.60% in 2017 to 4.60% in 2021. This contribution is also significantly higher than the EU-27 average, where online sales contribute only 1.94% to EU GDP.

The report "The Information Society in Spain 2022" by Fundación Telefónica indicates that 55.2% of Spaniards made online purchases in 2021, 1.4 percentage points more than in 2020. The frequency of e-commerce use also grew slightly in 2021: on average, online shoppers made 3.8 purchases per month, compared to the 3.5 reported in 2020. In 2021, 54.1% of people aged 16 to 74 made a purchase of a physical product. 38.2% purchased a digital product to download or took out an online subscription. The most commonly purchased physical products through e-commerce are clothing (67.7% of people who have purchased online in the last three months), home delivery food (39.9%), sporting goods (33.1%), furniture and home accessories (30.8%), and computers, tablets, or mobile phones (30%).
